This situation puzzled me so much that I called their U.S. laptop marketing office in Irvine, California, to inquire. The man whom I spoke to told me that one-third of all U.S. laptop users prefers the eraser-like pointing device (found on U.S. Toshiba laptops), one-third prefers touchpads, and one-third doesnt care.
No! Many laptops do NOT come with this port. It would even be safe to say that MOST laptops do not have a game port. For joysticks, etc., laptops make do with parallel, serial, USB and IEEE 1394 ports.

Can anyone help me please, things look remarkably stupid as far as prices between companies producing laptops vary so much. I have noticed in the past month of my price searching of laptops, that a laptop can be more expensive than one of the same or less quility, is it the Brand Name or what. Please shed light on this issue anyone if you can. Thanx.
Daniel Pearson danielp@cae.ca asked: Im looking to purchase a laptop but I first wished to check out 2nd hand possibilities. Is there a NewsGroup forsale on computers and laptops?
I hope this thread doesnt die out, as I am looking to actually build this portable, and I would like some feedback. I will respond to any input as well. So, fare well, and heres my third plea for information about buying parts from otherwise damaged laptops. So, what I am looking to spend is something like $650:
